JOB DESCRIPTION
Minister of Outreach
TIBURON BAPTIST CHURCH

"… and you shall be witnesses to me both in Jerusalem and Judea,
and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION

The Minister of Outreach is responsible for assisting and coordinating all existing community outreach programs in which TBC members participate, as well as coordinating the activities of short-term missionaries who may travel outside the local community and around the world. He or she will also develop new outreach and evangelical programs as determined by the church leadership. The Minister will consult with other staff Pastors concerning activities, policies, scheduling, and procedures that relate to his or her areas of responsibility.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. ADMINISTRATIVE

a. Develop a budget for the entire outreach ministry.
b. Develop a calendar for the entire outreach ministry.
c. Develop annual goals and objectives for the outreach ministry.
d. Advise in the evaluation of various outreach ministries.
e. Enlist appropriate volunteer outreach, evangelical, and short-term mission workers.
g. Counsel with the volunteer outreach leaders and encourage maximum participation of church members. (See enclosure one for the list of 12 community programs in with TBC members now participate)
h. Counsel with short-term mission leaders and coordinate efforts. (See enclosure two for the list of 13 short term mission involving TBC members)
i. Establish and maintain records on growth, staff, purchases and other significant data.
j. Attend the weekly staff meeting.
k. Hold meetings with outreach leaders, and with mission leaders.

2. DEVELOPMENT

a. Develop a new evangelistic outreach to the local community.
b. Develop an outreach to local Korean community.
c. Conduct workshops and training for volunteer leaders.
d. Establish polices for TBC support of short term missionaries.
e. Develop a coordinated approach to short term missions.

3. RELATIONSHIPS

a. Work with pastors and staff to resolve problems and clarify areas of responsibility.
b. Work with volunteer leaders to guide and encourage.
c. Work with congregation members to encourage outreach.
d. Establish contacts with local churches in Marin County to assess local outreach opportunities.
e. Establish contacts with local Baptist Association to assess local training possibilities for volunteer leaders.
f. Establish contacts with the SBC IMB to coordinate short-term mission
activities.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

1. Maintain all 12 of the existing community outreach programs, with a minimum of three TBC members actively participating in each.
2. Establish 3 more community outreach programs, with a minimum of three TBC members actively participating in each.
3. Coordinate the activities of the short-term missionaries.

SUCCESS PATTERNS

1. Had at least 50% of church members participating at least monthly in one outreach activity outside the church.
2. Increase the number of short-term missionaries by 25%.
3. Draw at least 30 new attendees to TBC through community outreach.
4. Attend at least one church outreach per weekv 5. Attend at least one time each of the outreach programs over the course of six months.
