Riots break out in Watts

Cities started burning in 1965. I remember the times. After burnings in LA, there was Detroit and New York City. I didn't know what to make of it. By this time I sympathized with the plight of inner-city Blacks, but I couldn't understand why they would burn their own houses down. It seemed at the time that fires in the city would be a summerly occurance. But after 66, 67 and 68, the regular urban fires passed into history.
