That's really great dad. I'll write to John soon. I think I still have my full collection of the revised cards in the house somewhere. They should be worth about 300 now...Anyway, I'm glad that your almanac might be published. What do you think the chances are? Also, when I get back, I was wondering if you could help me set up my home page (since you are writing a book about it). That is another reason why I thought it made sense to continue my account. It's not only email but web sight, archived mail, access to the library system, administrative system and a good way to communicate "live" with friends while I'm far away. Here's a partial list of stuff to bring. I will be sending more back with you then what you will be bringing. Two books:Huntington, Clash of Civilizations Szymborska, some book of poetry (she just won the Nobel prize (tell mom that she should be inspiring her since she won it at the age of 73) Clothing:Blue jeans (2 pairs if possible) (34x32)Turtleneck (black?) gifts:some California/Christmas/American souvenir thing for Latvian family (Sold at stores everywhere!!) Nice candy :jelly beans?Food:nonfat tortilla chips mountain dew!!! yeah!! If I think of more I'll tell you but I think that's most of it. Did you find out anything about where our roots actually are? I sent a postcard to Aunts Jeanne and Eileen but I accidentally sent it surface so they might not have gotten it yet... If you can get it by next Tuesday, then I can talk to my professor who has helped other people find their roots..(did you know that I bought two Magic books for $1 at a garage sale just before I left (to read here along with Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance)Well, this is a tough week so I gotta go, Bye Zach |
