Subject: staying in Poland

Well, here zach goes again, I am considering changing my plans, actually I have decided to change my plans, in fact I have changed my plans and now am attempting to implement them. I am going to stay here until April2-30. I will take a class from an Oxford Professor on the Holocaust and Auschwitz (one of the reasons I came but they didn't offer it last semester) I will be taking a polish class, studying Russian and perhaps another class. I would also like to do some real research on my family background (I have found about a dozen Formanskis and I plan on drafting a letter and sending it to them all, so I will need your help with full names and locations and things... Basically, I think that I will be more productive in the next ten weeks here than I will be at Stanford. I will still be in time to complete my Russian class, apply for raship etc, but I will need some help from you. I will need some stuff mailed to me in the next few weeks, I can have someone leave it in the lag office and then you can pick it up there. Like, financial aid forms, Russian materials for the class, RA materials, scholarship information, applications, etc. I hope you are happy with my decision (I have outlined a budget that I don't think is too optimistic of 1500 dollars for the next ten weeks(After the first month, I've been spending between 3and 400 dollars a month). I have thought about this a lot and I don't think that I will have another opportunity like this. (I will be studying for the foreign service exam too and will return a month before it happens). I just decided that there is so much I can do here and at Stanford I would be spending a lot of time commuting, trying to find a place to live, hanging out with friends, etc... So, asap, I need you to change my sta tickets, I will give you a date to change it to tomorrow, I need to find out when ra interviews start. I'm sorry for putting you to all this trouble, but I guess I've been trouble ever since I pooped in my diapers in your lunchbucket... A lot has changed here, especially my outlook on my future and my value of myself. Since I am, returning latter, it is even more important that you guys use your education contacts (and mom her Korean friends) to help me find a summer internship. I also want to do some interviews before the foreign service exam because the consul said that that was one of the best ways to prepare...) I will write you tomorrow.
