Join at Prayer Mountain
next Friday evening / Saturday morning (September 17 / 18)
Take a break from the week’s routine. Among the redwoods is a beautiful way to refresh and pray. We plan to have some formal meeting times, but most time will be unstructured.
You will have the opportunity to get close to nature and to one another.
Things to bring: sleeping bag, sleeping mat, flashlight, Bible, grooming stuff (soap, toothbrush, towel). Please bring minimal food. This place is officially known as FASTING and prayer mountain. We do plan to eat, just not feast. Bring things suitable for a cooking on a campfire.
Friday schedule: 5:30 meet the Church parking lot if you need a ride or want to follow.
6:30 to 8 pm -- arrive and find a place to stay overnight.
8 to 9 pm – Velma will lead us around a camp fire.
9 to ?? am – enjoy the camp fire and one another’s company.
Saturday schedule: 6:30 am – for you early birds, Pastor Chris will lead the Saturday morning worship in the sanctuary.
to 11 am – rest or walk among redwoods
11 am – baptism celebration at the baptismal location
Noon – eight believing Christians will be baptized
Stay as long as you please, but Chris and Kim will be leaving about 1 pm.
Directions: Find your way to Interstate 280 headed toward San Jose. Exit at HW 17 toward Santa Cruz. Just before Santa Cruz, exit Mount Herman Road going into Scotts Valley. Go past the malls and on the outskirts of town turn right on Lockhart Gulch Road. Travel a few miles up this road and on the left you will see a sign that says in both Korean and English Fasting and Prayer Mountain of the World. Drive up this steep one-lane road. At the top there is a “deer-fence” that you must open and close. You are there!
NOTE: Prayer Mountain does not charge guests, but we will take up a love offering to support their good work.
