Phase 4 (July 23 to 30). We then traveled to the Rwandan capitol of Kigali. On four days Kim lead a seminar for Sunday School teachers. She did most of the presenting but I helped where I could. We held a singing day, a drama day, a craft day and a felt board day. Each of 250 teachers received a Hallmark bag full of pencils, paper, pens, rulers, scissors, and other odds and ends. At the national convention in the evenings the keynote speakers were from Korea. I was blessed to speak briefly to the ten thousand people for one sermon. I spoke of keeping our eyes on Jesus. This is the lesson that Peter learned when he walked on the water toward Jesus but then began to sink (Matthew 14:22-32). This was my wish for the Rwandan people: "Keep your eyes on Jesus".
