Simon and Dilia got married on May 27, in NY. It was a most beautiful wedding, and because of the place and because of the people who were involved. My husband and I flew to NY and met with future inlaws family. Together we traveled to upstate NY, Gardenias farm where the wedding took place. On Wednesday, we got there, and relaxed, and Gardenia and mama Dilia went to Costco, and I stayed behind.

I met so many wonderful people. Dilia's parents came from all the way from Venezuela and her sisters from Florida. On Friday, Zach came from Washington D.C and Dan came from California. Dilia's friends came from Scotland, so this wedding is truly an international affair. I had a great time talking to Dilia's mom and got to know her more. They are well educated and good people, and these two are going to lead a great life.

On Friday, we had a rehearsal dinner, then reheasal. Just before the rehearsal, I showed video that I made for Simon. I tried to assemble a slideshow from a baby to now. The wedding was a simple but very elegant. Dilia wore an antic wedding dress that she found on e-bay. She is such a classic beauty. Meng commented her wedding dress, how pretty and classy it is. "She just needs wings, she is an angel". I agreed with him. The reception was so beautifully done too. Gardenia hired two ladies who are pro for this kind of events. As she said, it is five star hotel setting. She could really run this place as a wedding place The weather was predicted for rain, but all daySaturday, we had a beautiful day. A perfect day for an outdoor wedding, and outdoor reception. At 3:00 p.m, the wedding began. Most of the guest stayed one more night after the wedding, and bride and groom went off to stay a night at a nearby BB place. I bet we had better accommodation.

What a wonderful way to start a married life like this. Perfect couple for perfect beginning. Thank you God for all your blessings, everything you made so perfect. Lord, keep them under your wings, and give them courage to explore their talents fully and guide them to live their life meaningfully by realizing your will for them. Your face will shine on Simon and Dilia everyday of their life.

Gardina was a great hostess. I thank God for her love and kindness. This is what I wrote to her after I got back home.

We are back and trying to go back to the normal routine. But, when my mind is in resting place, I am at Millerton with you and many wonderful people I met last weekend. I am walking up and down to my room to your office to the kitchen. And lookout to the rolling hills, and of course the most beautiful pond that I will remember forever. Your farm was the perfect place for my artist son to get married. I can't think of any better place in the whole world for Simon to get married. You are a God send. I can't express my thank enough to you for this beautiful wedding that came to reality. I have never met anyone like you who are so generous, kind and funny. You have touched me deeply with your "calling" to take care of your mother. I was not able to do the job when my mother was in bed for 12 years. I could quit my job and take care of her, but I didn't and couldn't. God selects only the special heart and give the assignment to the person who is worthy of doing it. My sister did that, and in your family you seemed to be the one. I hope your mom's transfer to St. Luke in NY is a smooth one. Your mom is a such sweet heart and a beautiful lady. My mom was like your mom, she was very sweet. I was told that when a person gets to be old and sick, their true nature comes out. Sweet person becomes more sweet, and mean person becomes meaner.

I would love to help you write your mom's story. Maybe this can be an excuse for us to meet again. Or you can list things you remember about your mom, just like the one you told me; she put a rose to conceal your low cut, or helping other people, etc.

Say hello to Miguel, he was a great help to us. He was kind and very good to us. I gave him a CD that contains all the wedding pictures that I took. Once my husband put all the pictures on the website, we will send the link, so you can share it with your sister in Miami. Give my kiss to your mom and your aunt.

Move to rehearsal in the house.
