Traditional Sounds of Rwanda

I bought this anthopology anthology CD and posted it at the CASR site in 2008: "Anthology of Word Music ~ Africa: Music From Rwanda".

Rwanda Music 1
Rwanda Music 2

Before I returned to America after my first Rwanda mission in 2001, I bought this cassette of popular Rwandan music. It has a lot to to do this spirit of that time. I listened to it at home to get pumped about going to Rwanda.

God Made Me

In 2002, I traveled to Rwanda with a Korean group called "World Missionary Frontiers". Missionary Kim was the leader. As part of this mission, we brought along 300 cassettes of kid songs. These were produced by Korean Americans and sung in English and Kinyarwandan. This is one song from that album.

Track 8 by Asaph
Track 10 by Asaph
Track 1 by Victory church

I spent a month is Butare when I established CASA in October 2006. I listened to Rwandan music and tried to learn the language (didn't succeed). These are three contemporary Christian songs I enjoyed most.

Mambo Sawa Sawa

I recorded this when I visited Amon at Living Faith ministries in 2008. It's the kids singing with enthusiasm. "Things are getting better and better."

Come and See Africa
Theme Song

in 2007, my friend Willy Ngabo said he would write a song for Come and See Africa. He and his wife, Rose, recorded it. In 2008, they gave me the result and in 2009, Rose sang the song at our conference. I love it.
