When I first saw this piece of property, I wondered why it was vacant. It was an oversized corner property with the foundation bricks of an ruined house. I learned later that this property was once owned by H.E.Theodore SINDIKUBWABO, who was president of Rwanda during the 100 days of genocide. When Mr. SINDIKUBWABO was on the faculty at the National University, he owned this property. My understanding is that at the conclusion of the genocide, his grand house was demolished and the all the pieces removed. That is the story anyway. To get a clear title to this property we obtained the signature of his daughter who was a member of the Rwandan assembly. It reminds of the proverb of Samson: "Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet."
