Don't Scream !
August 19, 1965

I attended Beatle concerts in Chicago in 1964 and 1965. During the '64 concert at the International Amphitheater, I could not hear a thing. There was just too much screaming. So when the Beatles came to Chicago again in 1965, WLS put on a campaign called "Don't Scream". The idea was to get the word out not to scream while the Beatles were performing. The 1965 concert at Cominsky Park was much better. I could actually hear the music. Although, this probably had to do as much with fading of extreme Beatlemania as the campaign.
