It was an all day drive from Utah to California, 90% through the desolation of Nevada.

I got to June lake and the campsite about 6pm, right on schedule.
I left about 10 am on Saturday morning. I had hoped to get home in about 6 hours
I wanted to drive the Tioga pass on HW 120 through Yosemite

This was the expected route from Oh! Ridge to home.
The VW broke down. Here's the sad tale.
This is the tow route from Groveland to Modesto.
It cost $285 / after USAA had paid $300.
Driving home on Sunday (Day 8) in an Enterprise rental car.
I left my VW Passet wagon in Modesto at Ralph's Transmissions shop.
The estimated repair was $4500 the Blue Book was $5020.
I couldn't see putting any more money into it.
