
What are the basics about the 3rd millennium?
First a definition: The "Webster's New Universal Unabridged dictionary" says... mil-len'ni-um, n: pl. mil-len'ni-ums,mil-len'nia, [L. 'mille', a thousand, and 'annus' year.]
- 1. a period of one thousand years
- 2. in theology, the period of a thousand years during which Satan will be bound and Christ will reign on earth (with "the") Rev. xx. 1-5.
- 3. any period of great happiness, peace, proserity, etc.; an imanged golden age.
In definition one, The word "millennium" captures the imaginations of historians -- In definition two, the imaginations of theologians -- and in definition three, the imaginations of sociologists and futurists.
