Millennium Predictions

The term "Millennium" is a biblical reference to a period of one thousand years when peace and goodness shall reign. A religious prediction of the millennium can be found in the Bible. Some irreligious predictions also exist.

Arthur C. Clarke authored the book 2001: A Space Odessey, a story about the beginning of the 3rd millennium. Wasn't Mr. Clarke a tad optomistic about the progress of space exploration at 2001 AD?
