Georgia     

First time in Georga in 1976

	My first visit to Georgia was on a bus traveling from Fort Jackson, South Carolina, to Fort Benning, Georgia. I was stationed in Georgia for 5 months; 3 months for Officer Candidate School, a one month wait, then 1 month for Airborne School. I was by myself for the first month, then Kim and baby Zac flew to Georgia and stayed in Ft. Benning housing until we moved on to Virginia.

on Carter's first visit to his hometown after winning the 1976 presidential election.
