During our last months at Fort Leonard Wood we visited Lake of the Ozarks several times. I did some official army work there and flew back and forth on a helicopter several times.
As I was leaving the Army and Fort Leonard Wood, I had about 30 days of leave to use or lose. In August of 1980, our family spent a few weeks of that the Lake of the Ozarks, about 100 miles from my post. My best memory is that Simon would put his head under water and "swim like a fith".
