The Love that Jesus demonstrated for His people was a just love; and sometimes justice requires judgment. When Jesus came to Jerusalem, He entered into the holy temple. He looked around and to His disgust He saw merchants selling animals for temple sacrifice. He saw bankers sitting at tables to exchange money. This insult to God made Jesus angry. He made a whip out of ropes and drove all of the merchants and animals out of the temple. He turned over the tables of the money changers and said “It is written that my Father’s house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a place of thieves”. Our God is a God of Justice. Always remember that goodness will be rewarded, but that evil will be punished. |
