Part 30 ~ Appearances

On the day of His resurrection, Jesus showed Himself to two followers as they walked down the road to Emmaus. At first their eyes were closed to His identity. Then their eyes were opened to the meaning of Scripture. Finally their eyes were opened to Jesus Himself. Later, Jesus appeared to ten of His disciples, passing through a locked door. Thomas was not with them and he doubted the story. Then, one week later, Jesus showed Himself to Thomas also. He said, “Thomas, reach out your finger and feel the nail prints in my hand. Don’t be faithless but believing.” Then Thomas believed too. And Jesus said, “Thomas, because you saw me you believed. Blessed are those who have not seen me and yet believe”. Jesus was talking about me and you. We have not seen the risen Christ and yet we believe that He is alive.
