35 e-mails chronicling the last year of Jack's life

E-MAIL #27 ~ 12/7/07

I talked with Barb and Jack yesterday and they were very discouraged. I had just talked with Eileen and she reported that Jack had called her the day before to ask about the flooding. He had sounded good and upbeat. But when I called at about 3pm their time, I was cut off. So I called again about a half hour later and Barb answered. She said that they were talking to the doctor when I first called. She said that Jack had just been discharged the day before, but that they were going to readmit him. He developed a skin rash which indicates that the graft verses host reaction is still not completely controlled. I talked with Jack and he sounded much better, just very discouraged by the turn of events. He said that the doctors are not sure about the course of treatment now, but may try the steroids again. Jack was not looking forward to those side-effects again.

So keep both Jack and Barb in your prayers.
