35 e-mails chronicling the last year of Jack's life

E-MAIL #5 ~ 4/15/07

Dear Friends and family,

Well here I am at M.D. Anderson, it looks like it is AML (leukemia), so I will have one more day of testing and then check in for a 4 week stay on Wed. They are testing a new type of drug that is supposed to cause less relapses after the initial treatment. They will be giving Me one week of chemo-therapy then I have 3 weeks to recover and grow new white blood cells. If that doesn't work, they try it again. During the treatment, I'll be a sterile room no visitors, although they have a room next door for family with a glass window you can communicate through. That means Barbara and the boys can come by and visit on weekends.

I want to thank you all for your prayers and good wishes and calls and all. What a great support group. I know with all the good tidings heading my way we'll be able to whip this thing.

God Bless all, Jack
