E-MAIL #5 ~ 4/15/07Dear Friends and family,Well here I am at M.D. Anderson, it looks like it is AML (leukemia), so I will have one more day of testing and then check in for a 4 week stay on Wed. They are testing a new type of drug that is supposed to cause less relapses after the initial treatment. They will be giving Me one week of chemo-therapy then I have 3 weeks to recover and grow new white blood cells. If that doesn't work, they try it again. During the treatment, I'll be a sterile room no visitors, although they have a room next door for family with a glass window you can communicate through. That means Barbara and the boys can come by and visit on weekends.I want to thank you all for your prayers and good wishes and calls and all. What a great support group. I know with all the good tidings heading my way we'll be able to whip this thing.God Bless all, Jack |
