An adventure to Anchorage and Valdez

We crossed the Alaska pipeline.

and saw lots of glacier waterfalls

A big part of the adventure was losing Josh. This is how it happened. Frank and I were driving and stopped in the middle of nowhere to check maps. During this 2 minute stop, Joshua hopped out of the car to "take a whiz". He was only wearing his tennis shoes and wore no shirt. He says he climbed over a sleeping Simon. Anyway, Frank and I drove away, each thinking that Josh was in the other car. After two hours or so, we realized that Josh was not among us. Josh was 17 years old, but still we were a bit paniced. We called the highway patrol. We finally caught up with Josh at a service station. The days are long and even at 10 pm there was some light. Josh said he lifted stones to keep warm.

Josh was nice enough to re-enact his experience. Here it is:

Josh climbs over a sleeping Simon to exit the car.

Josh answers the call of nature.

Josh chases the Suburban, but no one sees him left behind

Josh tries to hitch hike to civilization

Our two cars finally stop when we realize that Josh is not among us.

Josh is happy that we caught up with him,
but most glad that he was re-united with his favorite bunny

We saw some great scenery in Alaska.
We drove through Denali national Park and right past Mount McKinley, but it was too cloudly to see anything at all.

near Valdez

On to the a return home through Alaska and British Columbia.
