School ~ I walked from my home to this school 13 1/2 years; from Kindergarten to High School graduation.

Boy Scouts -- Troop 230 ~ My dad was the scout master and I started scouting early.

Mad Magazine ~Jack bought every issue and I read them cover to cover when he was done.

1960s Television ~ My brain melted from all the TV I watched in the 60s.

-- AM radio in Chicago ~ After TV, I began listening to the radio.

Beatles ~ When these four mop heads burst on the scene in '64, I was 14 years old and ready to rock.

Visit to Alabama ~ I visited my sister Jeanne in Florence, Alabama, in 1966. I kept a diary that year and these are the excerpts.

In the summer of '67, I traveled to Berlin to visit my brother Jack who was in the Air Force and just married to Barbara.
